How Carnie Wilson of Wilson Phillips Dressed for the Interview Circuit

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 28

Went to Loehmann’s in Beverly Center to check out our display wearing black leggings, black Me Too ballet flats with silver buckles and a beaded T-shirt, an extra-large but not a plus-size, a big deal for me. Walking through the store, I went crazy with shopping. I needed blinders! Ended up buying stretchy bone-colored pants and cork platform sandals in a beautiful saddle brown. After, an interview for E! I used a stylist, Art Conn, who is my savior. I wore a short-sleeve dress with three stripes of color: aqua, a stripe of green and then black; my black leggings and patent leather nude heels with an open toe.

THURSDAY, MARCH 29

With my glam squad — Art, the hairdresser and makeup artist — to plan out my New York appearances. Wore a pair of dark Calvin Klein jeans, red Toms shoes and an adorable top by Romeo & Juliet Couture in indigo blue with bell sleeves. It’s been so exciting, especially as I’ve been losing weight. Now it’s not about hiding this or that. Later, an on-camera interview for our reality show, sit-down, so it didn’t matter much what was on the bottom: just jeans. I wore a raspberry-sorbet-colored top with pink sequins. I’ve been trying to do more color.

FRIDAY, MARCH 30

Taped “Piers Morgan Tonight” in the morning, so I put on a snakeskin print black-and-white Donna Morgan dress, with black patent leather Nine West open-toed wedges. Had gone first to Amoeba to check out albums — such a cool music store. After the interview it was off to record some voice-overs. I changed into black jeans by Source of Wisdom, with the perfect waistline, not too high or too low. I had on my Torrid black blazer with lace trim and Calvin Klein black ribbed T-shirt with purple rhinestones. Switched into black flats with a sling-back and a bow. I got them for $14.99 at Payless.

SATURDAY, MARCH 31

Slept in until 7:30 a.m., which — with my 2- and 6-year-old daughters — was a small miracle. To prep meals for my plane ride tomorrow I wore a turquoise Cupio peasant top and black leggings. The shoes — turquoise huaraches that were completely inappropriate for the drizzling rain — I got at DSW. When my work gets crazy, I make sure to always have vitamins, water and proper food with me. That has helped me to lose 33 pounds.

SUNDAY, APRIL 1

Caught a flight to N.Y.C. in the outfit I wore for the E! appearance, only I added a long black cardigan sweater. I also brought along a Michael Kors black leather carry-on with brown trim — really cute with the MK print everywhere.

MONDAY, APRIL 2

Went to the salon early for the band’s Google performance. I wore a Donna Ricco black shrug and Suzi Chin for Maggy Boutique snakeskin faux wrap dress. For shoes, I slipped on black Taryn Rose patent leather pumps. In the evening, we had a fabulous date night at Blue Ribbon Sushi in SoHo. Ended up in raspberry-colored lingerie from Macy’s.

TUESDAY, APRIL 3

Two segments on “Today.” First a dolman-sleeve dress with a sexy slit up the arm: electric blue and silky. I wore the nude patent leather pumps with open toe. It’s all about the nude pump. Art recommended it to elongate the leg. He was right. It makes you feel creamy and delicious. Second: another blue dress by Calvin Klein, below the knee. Added Via Spiga open-toe sling-back red pumps. Any free time we had, Rob and I spent walking around the Village and SoHo. It was so beautiful out, the mood was “just seize the day.”
