Karmen Kamla LMFT /Jungian Analysis and psychotherapy

Karmen Kamla LMFT, Jungian Analysis and psychotherapy
At heart, I believe I am an artist, an artist of the soul.
My vocation as a depth psychotherapist, which Jung says "acts like a law of God" chose me.
I am profoundly and passionately committed to this vocation, and especially, the psyche.
This inner calling has led me to great depths internally and many distant places geographically, and it seems all to learn about the human being
in order to catch a glimpse into the inner life of the individual in suffering and pain as well as joy and celebration.
I have a Master in Arts Degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute, Santa Barbara, California.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Candidate at the C.G. Jung Study Center of Southern California.
With over sixteen years experience in the field of psychology, I am currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients.

Kookie Karma

I met Juli years ago, she is an amazing woman.
You can find her products at some West Coast markets like wholefoods or buy them on line. You will be very pleased, they are fresh and packed with goodness.

Handmade in our very own gluten-free commercial kitchen. We strive to offer you the freshest, best tasting raw and holistic snack products that we can. To do so we like to make everything fresh each week.

Kookie Karma was created in Santa Monica, CA by Juli Novotny in 2004 {she was only 24 at the time}. Juli has since worked hard to not only sell her products wholesale to West Coast markets and directly to consumers but to also educate people on the importance of including raw superfoods in and removing processed sugar/ flour/ dairy from their otherwise normal diet & lifestyle.

In the past 6 years Juli has also added 2 sons {only 12 months apart} to her busy household. PUREmamas, a blog that she dedicates her "free" time to, emerged as another education avenue for helping parents add healthy foods to their kids' diets. It's an open-minded space where Juli just talks freely {about her own life, decor, clothes, activities, eco-friendly stuff, etc.}, shares recipes and encourages the community to join in on discussions.

It's impartial and unbaised information - Juli respects all products, even ones that are similar to Kookie Karma snacks! No competition on PUREmamas.

Foods lower in Pesticides

Eat your fruits and vegetables! The health benefits of a diet rich in fruits and vegetables outweigh the risks of pesticide exposure. Use EWG’s Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides to reduce your exposures as much as possible, but eating conventionally-grown produce is far better than not eating fruits and vegetables at all. The Shopper’s Guide will help you determine which fruits and vegetables have the most pesticide residues and so are the most important to buy organic. You can lower your pesticide consumption by nearly four-fifths by avoiding the 12 most contaminated fruits and vegetables and instead eating the least contaminated produce, according to EWG calculations.

Maxi- Hair MAXIMIZED

I have been taking these for 4 months.
My nails, brows and hair are very strong and grows faster than before.
The ONLY down fall with these supplements is that they are big so, I have to drink lots of water.
They do go down easy but if you have a hard time swallowing pills these are NOT for you.
I tried cutting them in half, not a good idea, they don't feel so good going down.
The reason why I take these is cause they have all of your daily vitamins in 2 pills.
If you can't hang with the size of the supplement then just take 2,000 mcg of Biotin a day and that will help with your hair, skin and nails..

Religulous (Trailer)

The Nature of Existence - Original Trailer

one of my fav doc's "Tapped Trailer"

Is access to clean drinking water a basic human right, or a commodity that should be bought and sold like any other article of commerce? Stephanie Soechtig's debut feature is an unflinching examination of the big business of bottled water. From the producers of 'Who Killed the Electric Car' and 'I.O.U.S.A.,' this timely documentary is a behind-the-scenes look into the unregulated and unseen world of an industry that aims to privatize and sell back the one resource that ought never to become a commodity: our water. From the plastic production to the ocean in which so many of these bottles end up, this inspiring documentary trails the path of the bottled water industry and the communities which were the unwitting chips on the table.

Carbohydrates, Proteins, and Fats- I do not, would never calorie count, only my opinion

I eat 5x a day. I eat high proteins, low carbs, and good fats.
Unit ConversionAccurately calculate your ratios of carbohydrate, protein, and fat for a given daily Calorie amount. Select from a number of common diet ratios (such as low fat, low carb, or Zone diet). Results show exact number of Calorie and grams required for each nutrient.
CARB, PROTEIN, FAT CALCULATOR
Calories: per day

Nutrient Calculator - What Does It Do?
Once you have figured out your ideal daily calorie intake, you can go further, and convert this into grams of food. Food can be grouped into Carbohydrates, Proteins, and Fats. Various diets propose different ratios for these 'macro-nutrients'.

If you're unsure - select a Moderate Ratio - feel free to adjust the percentages manually if you wish. Depending on how many meals a day you choose, the calculator will tell you how many grams you should be eating. Note that more frequent meals means a more consistent energy level and a boosted metabolism.

To discover the amounts of nutrient that food contains, you need access to a food database - such as those on the diet software page. From here you can completely plan out your meals.

Do Macro-Nutrients Matter?
There is a difference of opinion on this. Some feel that only calories count, whilst others argue that distribution of nutrients is what is important. The reality is - you must find what works for you - and to do this you have to start somewhere! If it doesn't work - try something else.

As mentioned on the calorie calculator, Tom Venuto's ebook Burn The Fat has a considerable section about macro nutrient ratios and calories.. His opinion is that extremes (such as very low carb, and very low fat, are only appropriate for a small section of the population

Whole grain bread "Pizza"

Spread grape seed oil on bread add your favourite organic tomato sauce, garlic pd, sea salt, grated goat cheese. Toast it till golden brown, my kids love it.

Swiss chard

You do not have to boil the chard, it will take out the vitamins.
Lightly sauté with your fav oil and garlic, no more than 5 mins.

Support of Bone Health

With its very good supply of calcium, its excellent supply of magnesium, and the vitamin K it provides in amounts six to eight times higher than the Daily Value (in just one boiled cup), chard provides standout bone support.

Although many people have already learned about the connection between minerals like calcium and health of bones, the role of vitamin K in support of bone has not received nearly as much media attention. Vitamin K1 helps prevent excessive activation of osteoclasts, the cells that break down bone. Additionally, friendly bacteria in our intestines convert vitamin K1 into vitamin K2, which activates osteocalcin, the major non-collagen protein in bone. Osteocalcin anchors calcium molecules inside of the bone. All of these vitamin K-related mechanisms point to the importance of vitamin K-rich foods for bone health. In our World's Healthiest Foods rating system, the percent DV provided by chard in just one boiled cup allows it to rank fourth highest among all 129 World's Healthiest Foods. (It's amazing 716% DV is only exceeded by kale, spinach, and collard greens.)

Great Vitamin packed Snacks

Buy Organic Sulfur free air dried fruits.
It is always best to put your dried fruit in water, and eat them that day.
When you eat dehydrated fruit your body will rehydrate them and take water from you.
Either drink lots of water or rehydrate them before you eat them.
Read below, "the proof is in the pudding".

QUESTIONS: DRIED FRUIT, OVEREATING, AND FERMENTED FOODS

by Tom Billings
Q: Are the enzymes destroyed in the process of drying fruit? What about the effect of drying on water and oxygen? Are rehydrated, dried fruits as good as fresh?
A: If fruits are sun-dried, their enzyme loss will be minimized, provided the fruit is not heated above 118 degrees F. If they are dried in a kiln or (forced air) drier, above 118 degrees F, the loss can be worse. Some dried fruit is preserved with sulfur dioxide - best to avoid that and get dried fruit with no preservatives.
The purpose of drying is to reduce the water content, and as water is a good vehicle for oxygen, oxygen levels may be reduced. Rehydrated fruits, by most criteria, are not as good as fresh. However they are an alternative to fresh when fresh is not available or too expensive. It is a good idea to rehydrate dried fruit, as it may cause gas if not rehydrated.

The 88 - Coming Home

Canned foods, please label BPA free cause I just ate my salad with your tuna wholefoods.

BUT why does it not say BPA free? Are they scared to label it BPA free cause then they can be sued for false advertising. This way it's not labeled and we have to just trust in out products. Bullshit! We, as consumers, need to see it in writing to trust you. When we buy Organic we pay more cause the way it was grown. Why should we pay more for a trader joes or wholefoods can of tuna versus a ralphs or stop and shop can of tuna? Pay the 2.2 cents more for BPA free cans and we will buy it. We live in a corrupt world. We need things in writing to trust you.

TJ's customer relations reveals that canned corn, canned beans, canned fish, canned poultry, and canned beef at Trader Joe's are all packaged in BPA free cans. However, any other products that contain corn or beans or fish, etc. and other items - for example in soups or chilis - are not in BPA free cans, the company said. No labeling here, either.
Here's a startling, almost amazing fact. Eden Organic has been canning beans since 1999 in BPA (bisphenol-A) free cans. For a decade. Concerns about BPA keep mounting - in January the FDA reversed its 2008 stance to say it was "concerned" about BPA and recommended limited exposure. So why don't all food manufacturers follow Eden's lead? It's a persistance problem, says Eden's Sue Becker. And, of course, a money issue - BPA-free cans are available, but they cost approximately 2.2 cents more (14%) than cans with standard BPA epoxy liners. More recently, at least six other foods have been switched to BPA-free

PURE RAW buckwheat honey

The darker the honey the more packed with vitamins and minerals. Get a jar from your local farmers market. Put honey in your tea, coffee or on your toast. When my kids have a sore throat and are coughing I give them a tablespoon of this honey it soothes their cough, instead of giving them artificial cough syrup.
